• Reading widely
• Thinking about an inspiring scene or event
• Verbally discussing it with peers to get details
• Drafting important points on the piece of paper
• Take moments to imagine and wonder about the paper-work
• Relate draft with local situations or events –giving examples or cases
• Ask some questions to bring about reader debate
• Type up the draft
• Ensure complete sentences
• Ensure complete rhythm (rising and gradually dropping) of paragraphs
• Check vocabulary
• Check that punctuation marks are used where appropriate
• Ensure flow of words that picks reader continued interest
• Use metaphors and images to create interesting mental images
• Add at least three (3) quotes: Avoid making it too academic
• Ensure a chronological order or consistence in the usage of words
• Add emotional flow or “wave”
• Add an element of conversational –involving the reader in your writings
• Check opening lines of paragraphs and sentences whether or not are monotonous
• Have a dictionary check to confirm correct use of words
• Comprehension check
• Spell check
• Ensure recommendations and conclusion. You can conclude with a question
• End (if you did not begin with it) -with personal contact address
• Practice makes perfect
• Peruse through three times to ensure that all the above are applied
